English/Arabic ECD Foundation School

The ECD (Foundation) Arabic section is a well-supervised, safe and stimulating learning environment. As a way of preparing our pupils for the transition into the Junior school, our pre-school program has been developed into a unique curriculum consisting of seven learning and discovery areas for this age group, as follows:

  • Communication,
  • Language & Literacy
  • Numeracy and Mathematical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Creative Development
  • Physical Development

SBEC focuses on child-friendly subjects and pupils start learning by exploring their immediate environment, trying to find their place in a group and developing an age-appropriate level of independence.

Core Areas:

At SBEC, we keep our children’s bodies strong, healthy, and alert through motor skills and proper nutrition. In the first years of growth (formative years), young children are physically developing at a rapid pace. There are both large motor and fine motor developments happening at once. Our indoor and outdoor activities grossly facilitate the development of this domain.

We focus on the moral training of the child’s mind and character towards orderliness, self control, obedience, system of rule, tolerance and patience with a high sense of sympathy, self confidence and self esteem. Our children are also learning how to manage and appropriately express their emotions, such as fear, sadness, anger, hunger, and happiness among others.

This is the mental domain of the child that deals with brain development. We nurture our children to develop thinking skills, language skills, reasoning, calculations and memory skills. Our children are always processing information about their world. They do so through both structured and unstructured activities, play, and interaction with others.

They use their environment to experiment and explore. From such experiences they develop understanding and abilities in such areas as math, science, language, and art (creativity). The mind of a child absorbs information like sponge and water. As children are naturally gifted with active brain cells, we help in nurturing this natural gift in each child, to allow them grow and reach their full potentials

We help our children to build and maintain positive interaction and relationships with both peers and adults. We inculcate discipline through positive means and attitude of appreciation and thankfulness.  We nurture them to understand how to communicate, share, make friends, and get along with others.  This is critical in the first five years of the child’s life.
